	Drag icons from the library onto the map. Icons in .jpg, .png (default), .gif, .bmp and .ico format may be used - just add them to the directory path. Use the local icon set or use icons on a shared network drive. Edit and create new icons using the internal editor. Resize and rotate icons for powerful visual effects. Export icons to the clipboard.

Create Multiple overlay to organise your work.
Choose which overlays are displayed (turned on) and in which order they are drawn.
Merge and delete overlays.
Export individual overlays or the entire set to share with others

Collaborate In Real Time Over The Network

Easily create networks with other users by clicking the 'Server' button to share you work.
Other users (Clients) connect and get the complete set of overlays.
The Server or Clients can alter drawing, icons or entire overlays and the changes are made to all other users in near real time.
Clients decide which overlays in the set they want displayed and which one they want to edit.
Chat with other users.
The server can manage and remove clients from the network.

Export your work

Copy overlays to the system clipboard (with or without the background map) and paste into other applications.
Export overlays as image files (.jpg, .png, .gif and .bmp).
Save overlay sets to share with other The Ovelay Maker users.
Export icons.
Crop and resize exported images automatically to fit in applications such as MS PowerPoint.
